Master Claude Code for Production Shipping
CLAUDE.md, hooks, subagents and CI, configured on your own real repo
1 phase. 5 lessons. 5 labs. Build a fully configured Claude Code setup for your own real repo: a CLAUDE.md that verifiably changes behavior, a working hook, a repeatable subagent workflow, and a CI integration where Claude Code opens real pull requests — proven on one genuinely annoying task, end to end.
5 lessons · 5 labs · 4 configurations · 1 real task automated
Outcomes you will have by the end
- A fully configured Claude Code setup for your own repo — A verified CLAUDE.md, a working hook, a real subagent, and (if you go that far) a safe CI integration — proven on one real task you actually automated, not a toy example.
- A working mental model of when each tool applies — CLAUDE.md for judgment-friendly context, hooks for guaranteed behavior, subagents for context-isolated delegation, CI for unattended automation with real guardrails — knowing which to reach for is the actual skill.
- A safety-first pattern for autonomous CI agents — Branch protection, sandboxed branches, and minimal permissions built in from the start — a reusable pattern for any agent that takes real, hard-to-reverse actions.
- Verified certificate of completion — Issued by DeVenture Academy, tied to your completion record. Lists the context-engineering, automation, and CI-safety skills you built.
What you will be able to do

Roles this course prepares you for
- Senior Developer / Power User (Varies by employer) — Ship at a meaningfully faster pace by configuring Claude Code specifically for your own team's repo conventions, guardrails, and repeated workflows.
- Solo Founder / Indie Developer (Time savings compound across every project) — Apply this exact configuration pattern to every new repo, cutting the time spent on repetitive review and maintenance tasks.
- AI Tooling Consultant ($100-250/hr) — Help engineering teams adopt Claude Code safely and effectively, including CI integrations with real guardrails.
Common questions
Do I need to already be using Claude Code?
Yes — this course assumes Claude Code is already installed and working on at least one real repo. It's not an introduction to Claude Code itself, it's a deep dive into configuring it for real, repeated use.
Is it safe to let Claude Code open pull requests automatically?
Only with real guardrails, which Lesson 4 treats as the actual point of the lesson, not a footnote: branch protection on main, sandboxed branches, minimal CI permissions, and manual triggering to start rather than automatic on every push.
Do I need a team repo, or does this work solo?
Works fully solo — every lesson uses your own real repo, whatever that is. The CI integration in Lesson 4 is optional if you don't want to set up GitHub Actions permissions for a personal project.
What do I end up with?
A real, working Claude Code configuration for your own repo — a verified CLAUDE.md, a working hook, a subagent, and (optionally) a safe CI integration — proven by actually automating one task you used to do by hand, with honest before/after numbers.
